This is a great story that reminded me that I need to tend to my own bruises and to have faith that God has a p,an for us all! If you have been abandoned or neglected and you carry those bruises, this is a wonderful tribute to letting them go, no matter how long it takes!
I cried and cried. As a mother of a young boy, my heart broke. But what an amazing journey of love, from family members to marriage to parenthood, but more than anything, a true demonstration of God's love throughout. What a gracious determination the author has and allowed his life to bring healing to others. A beautiful story.
It was amazing, I didn't want to put it down. I had to keep reading because it was so amazing to see what all the writer endured. It is a book that can inspire any one that has been abused and mistreated. Great book, I ordered a couple for Christmas gifts.
Pastor Russell McCollough opens his heart and gives us a picture of a personal journey that is nothing short of miraculous. I have heard Pastor McCollough give his testimony many times, and each time I hear it I am again amazed at the power of the Holy Spirit and what God can do in us and through us when we give our lives completely to Him. God is in the business of using willing people for His glory, and Pastor McCollough is living proof of that. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs building up in his/her faith.
God works in mysterious ways and Russel's story is a perfect example of how God create miracles in our lives. When I hear stories like these, it makes me realize how we affect the lives of people that we encounter and gives me a better understanding of the struggles and challenges that people feel. Thank you so much for opening up your life story Russel. Everyone who reads this would certainly have a different perspective on how they should look at their and other people's life not just on a superficial level.
Russell's life story is sad yet very inspirational and encouraging. He experienced many deep hurts in his young life - this is why he has been such an inspiration to many . . . especially to me. I have heard many of his "life stories" but never knew some of the things he reveals in this book. His heart has been "tenderized" by the difficulties in his life and now he shares his compassion for hurting people wherever he goes. God has miraculously turned the "Ashes" in Russell's life into "Beauty". The story doesn't just end - there is also some great words of wisdom and instruction included for the readers who may be struggling with some "bruises" in their own life. Russell is my GOOD FRIEND - and one of my HEROS.
Pastror McColloughs story is an encouraging story for any one going through difficult times. It is an easy read and even has pictures. Im not much for long books and this is one you can read in a long afternoon and walk wasy encouraged that God does hear our prayers.
